Google sign-in and the rest of account setup
1 min read
You can now sign in or create an account with Google. No separate password needed. For most people this turns signup from a 60-second exercise into a 5-second one.
The full onboarding flow is now in place. Four steps: who is Carbol for (self or guardian), medical disclaimer with required tick-boxes, your insulin-to-carb ratio, your unit preferences (mmol/L or mg/dL, whole units or half units). It takes most people under 5 minutes end to end.
The medical disclaimer screen is non-skippable for a reason. Anyone using Carbol needs to actively confirm they understand what the app is and isn't, before they reach the meal capture screen. The legal language is in the Terms but the in-app moment matters more for actual user understanding.
Onboarding is the part of the product I've iterated on the most. First impressions for a tool that suggests insulin units have to be right. Confident without overclaiming. Clear about responsibility. Quick enough that people don't bail. I think we're there.
